Liz Truss, began the first edition of her YouTube show with a promise to reveal "those with ill intent" attempting to weaken Britain, the US and Europe. Truss elaborated she would lay bare how an "global web of leftists function to weaken the democratic process and the electorate's mandate."

"We're going to look at the political movement of Donald Trump and see how it can be achieved in Britain," she said. "Our guests will include the leading lights of the Trumpist political sphere."

In advance of the show's launch, there was a strong advocate. "This represents the dawn of a type of political shift," said John Solomon. His conservative media outlet Just the News will host the Truss's new broadcasts.

Establishing Ties in the Maga Media Ecosystem

UK-based allies, such as a counselor supportive of Reform, assisted in her set up the her new show. Its staging is competent, if somewhat rudimentary. She has gathered 10,000 subscribers in her first week and her first episode achieved tens of thousands of views across the same period.

This marks a small opening, but in making common cause with Solomon, the former PM is being entering a mature right-wing media network generating and disseminating Make America Great Again themes. Central preoccupations include claims of media suppression by the established press and a desire to dismantle a conspiratorial 'deep state' – a force that the ex-PM holds responsible for the swift end of her short and troubled leadership.

"Solomon's outlet is not well-known past the Maga world, but it does have gravitas there, mostly due to John Solomon, who gives commentary on Maga platforms like Steve Bannon's War Room and has even interviewed Donald Trump," commented Alex Hinton, who has closely studied the Maga movement.

A Contentious Ally

The former PM's foray to bring Maga media to the UK has aligned her more closely to contentious individuals such as John Solomon.

He founded Just the News in the wake of scrutiny following accusations of circulating inaccurate reports about Joe Biden's anticorruption effort in the Eastern European nation, as well as controversial stories about one-time diplomat to Ukraine.

His claims were amplified within the conservative press, with he serving as a regular guest on the widely-watched Fox News program. The former president personally promoted Solomon's reporting.

He wrote the Ukraine claims in a number of opinion pieces for the outlet the political newspaper, after having been re-labelled as a columnist after colleagues complained regarding his reporting. His claims were central in Trump's demand for the Ukrainian government to investigate Hunter Biden and his father in that year. This pressure led to impeachment proceedings against Trump. She has already interviewed Steve Bannon on an early episode.

By partnering with this media figure, the former leader has become a minor player in a much wider network of right-wing publications that often amplify each other's content.

Solomon's own broadcasts have repeatedly hosted individuals such as commentator Mike Benz, a rightwing influencer whose disparagement of the foreign aid agency was cited by the X owner as grounds for closing the government body.

An International Strategy

Even though the former PM's unnatural presentation and political travails have drawn derision at home, a number of stateside commentators are not discounting her efforts to reinvent herself as a UK offshoot of the pro-Trump media ecosystem.
