British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital follows the boxing community shared its support for the fighter in the following the terrible crash.
