Edwards and Gary O'Neil Among Wolves Managerial Candidates

Edwards and O'Neil represent the early candidates under consideration to succeed the former manager as head coach of Wolves.

Pereira was sacked on Sunday after the squad's 10-match winless start to the Premier League campaign.

And both candidates - each of whom have previous associations to the club - are part of the options to be evaluated by the Wolves leadership.

Edwards is presently at another club, which would pose a potential obstacle to his hiring at Molineux.

However the ex- Luton Town head coach - who made more than 100 of appearances for the club during his time as a player - is said to be a leading candidate for the vacancy.

The mid-career manager is reportedly enjoys backing from the Wolves directors as they begin the search of hiring a new manager.

O'Neil is also emerging as a unexpected contender, although he would be a shock appointment given he was sacked by the club in the previous winter.

The ex- West Ham midfielder is out of work which means Wolves would not be required to provide any buyout fee.
