I will stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two time world boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really going ahead.
